Louis Vuitton Bags Show 2008 Fall

Here is a browse of what’s in store for the Fall season from Louis Vuitton As you see, for Fall, the monogram and logo remain strong. It’s the brand’s bread and butter, why change it and go all simple and logo-less a la Bottega Veneta right? I mean how fun would that be? Who would we make fun of if Marc Jacobs started offering understated and subtly chic bags? We love Marc Jacobs because he shakes things up! So, back to the bags. Richly textured (looks like suede or could be fabric according to my source) with exotic detailing like python handles and ostrich trim, it is so lovely I can even overlook the monogram. I am especially liking the winter white version with python shoulder strap, it looks so luxurious next to the white cashmere coat. Is there anything more delicious than a white cashmere coat? I have to say, the Louis Vuitton ready to wear from MJ is exceptional this season. I can’t wait to see the entire collection in person. What do you think? Stephen Sprouse Creations like the Speedy With Rose and Neverfull Graffiti

I am very interested in seeing Louis Vuitton’s tribute to Stephen Sprouse bags from a collector’s standpoint. Marc Jacobs continues Sprouse’s vision to “deface” the iconic monogram with his two signature concepts, dayglo bright graffiti and the rose. I have to admit I prefer this “Tribute to Sprouse” collection over the CDC limited editions last year– mostly because I wore a ton of Sprouse inspired dayglo graffiti stuff when I was in junior high school and even copied his art work in my art class. I won’t be walking around with a hot pink graffiti bag now but I do love the roses. If you are a bag as art aficionado, the rose speedy would be perfect to display in your home or use daily. Though you should be weary of the knock offs that will most certainly ensue and purchase it from an authorized LV retailer. I was invited to a tribute exhibit for the Sprouse collection and after party tomorrow night in NYC.

As part of Louis Vuitton’s commitment to Sprouse’s work, the house will also make a donation to the National Academy of Design – Stephen Sprouse Scholarship Fund to mark the launch of the collection. Childish Louis Vuitton Bags

You may have came arocss many ciccy bags before, but have you ever saw this Louis Vuitton bag? Apparently there is no end to the barrage of atrocious bags from Louis Vuitton. But let’s be fair here for a minute, I do appreciate the attempt at creativity with the LV monogram – which clearly MJ himself is sick of. And the overall design of the bags is not completely heinous (I prefer the shape of the smaller one on the right), now stick on a couple of cutsey but useless plastic buttons, stitch the monogram in yellow on top of all of Barbie’s favorite colors and you have a bag totally suitable for a chic 7 year old girl. Unfortunately the 4 figure price tag will not go over so well with her mother but her Grandmere might be persuaded. Believe it or not, you are THE style queens who have a great influence on all our bag purchases. Could I ask you for a huge favor? My cousin and I do not like or buy LV at all, but the only bag that has caught our attention is the Mahina. The stores have been pushing it as a classic, but we look to you for advice. If one were to own only one LV bag (we absolutely hate the monogram canvas) could it possibly be this one? In other words, does it have your stamp of approval?

Thank you for supporting us, it is readers like you who make it fun for us! As for the LV Mahina, I will concede that the bag itself has all the trappings of a classic. The comfortable hobo shape and drop on the top of the bag appeals to my practical side. I do like the sumptuous size and appreciate the meticulous etchings of the LV monogram on the leather. The Mahina style does make it different than the dreadful original monogram but unfortunately, it is still a bag full of monograms which we do not like. I ask myself why they don’t just make their bags in plain leather, but then again, I am not their customer and that is why they will never try to appeal to my taste. Is this better than a monogram canvas? Well, yes and no, leather obviously gives it value but it also jacks up the price to $3750 in this case. By itself, I could possibly endorse this bag but considering the price the answer is a definitive NO. You said it yourself, you do not love the LV Monogram so why would you spend almost 4 grand on one? If it still moves you, it is available at eluxury, it is currently sold out, which doesn’t surprise me, but their boutiques will have it in stock.
